Although this is a fairly new event, we have years of experience in hosting organized trail rides, poker runs, play
days, obstacle challenges, trail challenges, and even the occasional gymkhana.
The main focus of the High
Desert Versatility Challenge is to find the best "all around" horse in the "High Desert" however, that
being said, you do not need to compete in all or even more then one type of event. Its all about fun but we do hope
you will give something new a try at one of our events. Therefore besides the Obstacle Course, we also offer pleasure
class (Western/English), Dressage, and a minimum of 2 speed type event as well as In-Hand and a Cart Class. All classes
can count toward "High Point" to be awarded at each event and also to accumulate for end of the year Silver Buckles.
BUT to qualify to High Point, the rider/horse MUST compete in one of the Jackpot Classes.
Entry fees for
the Jackpot classes will be awarded as follows. 40% of the total collect for each class will be awarded to the riders
(see rules for breakdown of money in each class) and 10% will go into the "High Point" for the day Jackpot.
A
rider can enter multiple horses but points will count for Rider/Horse Team.
A horse can have multiple riders,
but please use some common sense when doing this and also consider the conditioning of the horse.

If you are hauling in prior to ride day we do have 5 acres available for dry camping. There is plenty of room to set
up portable corrals or tie to your trailer. If you wish to rent a stall overnight please contact us prior to registering
as we are a horse rescue and our stalls are limited. Should there be an available stall we do charge $10 per night/per
horse, this covers the stall and water, you are responsible for your own feed. The stalls are assorted sizes ranging
from 10 x 10 pipe corral up to large turn outs, it just depends on what is available.
